“ 人の顔をクロースアップで撮ってテレビで再生する時は何も感じないが、プロジェクターを使って上映するときは映像が拡大されるので、突然感動が生まれる。映画は拡大の芸術で、クロースアップで写した映像に感動するのです。つまりドキュメンタリーを製作するとき、最初に映画に対して感じた不思議な感動がよみがえるのです。もちろんそれは理論ではなくて、身体的な反応なのですが。
